First off, my intention is to build a lay out.

Reasoning: I've seen enough pop culture crap where people are drunk and doing things (Drunk History, My Drunk Kitchen, etc) so let's bring pop culture to model railroading.

I possess most of the required track to start doing this. The only things I needed to order are the wyes and crosses.
I'm still undecided on industries or era to model at this point. I do own a small collection of modern diesels (MP15DC,GPs) and intermodal freight cars. I'm also still not sure if I want to be full DCC or not. It's a pretty small lay out so I'm not sure I really need DCC. Perhaps just a good analog throttle controller will suffice. The turn outs will definitely be remote, by the way.
Next time I start drinking, I'll work on laying the track.
